New Technology and New Wonders
There are two things that have me excited right now. In ascending order of importance, they are my Zaurus and my son. My Zaurus is a Linux-based personal digital assistant (PDA). I’ve loved it since the day I got it, but, the purchase of memory for it allowed me to change the operating system on it to OpenZaurus and Opie, which makes it even cooler. This gives me more robust features and applications, and much more flexibility. As a technophile, I find myself somewhat consumed with a sort of glee that most people would find disturbing when directed to a piece of electronics, but I can’t help it. This thing is cool! One of the cool things I can do with it now, and one of the reasons I bought the memory upgrade (other than the upgrade mentioned above), is that I can now carry a bazillion pictures of Andrew, which brings me to the second part of my thought.
I just got an email from Angela telling me that Andrew is taking his afternoon nap, and reminded me to think about him in his OU outfit tonight (we’re going to a family gathering for which Andrew will be decked out in crimson and cream). Picturing that and recalling some of the cute pictures I can now carry around with me gives me that funny, warm fuzzy feeling that I think only a parent can understand. When work is rough and life gets a little annoying, just picturing that his face brings a smile to mine. He’s the coolest. I love that little guy…
