The deal is done!

It took longer than expected, but it we’re finally in our house!

We were originally supposed to close on October 31, but that had to be delayed because someone stole our carpet. 😛  The carpet was laid, but not tacked, on a Friday, and the carpet layer was supposed to come finish the job on Sunday.  Sometime in that interval, someone came in the unlocked doors and rolled up the carpet in two boys’ rooms and the hallway and walked off with it.  Our builder said that it’s not too uncommon for a contractor to be short on a job, so he finds someone else’s job with tile, carpet etc. that will work and absconds with it.  Sad and annoying, but it pushed the closing back the one day we needed to get cheaper insurance, so we’re not too worked up about it.

So, we closed on Friday, 11/2, and moved everything into the house/garage over that evening and the next day.  Just about everything is set up, except phone and cable, and we’re waiting for the correct refrigerator to be delivered, but that’s all OK.  We’re in our own home now.  Life’s good. 🙂  For those of you that know how, you can view pictures on my family web site.
