Unbelievable Logic

Unbelievable Logic

Read this post, paying particular attention to the newspaper scan.  Ashleigh Taylor is convinced that she did the right thing in killing her unborn baby.  Her logic is as as awful as the murder she wrought on her baby:

“I know that I made the right choice….What kind of life would that baby have had knowing that I didn’t even know the surname of the father?… my life would have been ruined.”

So, according to her, it’s better that the baby (and she did admit that it’s a baby, and not a blob of tissue) be killed than knowing that her mother didn’t know the child’s father’s last name.  Further, it’s a much better outcome to deliver the baby (whether dead or alive at this point the article doesn’t state) into a stainless steel tray to be thrown into the trash than “ruin” her life.  The selfishness and callousness is just astounding.  She now states that she hasn’t “had a successful relationship since.”  While there is a part of me that feels some pity for her and the damage she’s brought on herself, I can’t help but be distracted by the relationships her baby will never have because her mom decided that the life she created was too inconvenient to allow to live.  History will not look kindly on us for allowing this infanticide to continue.

“Evolution, Abortion, and Other Stuff We Care About”

“Evolution, Abortion, and Other Stuff We Care About”

If you ever needed a really good reason not to vote for Oklahoma Democrats (and, one might easily conculde, Democrats in general) this is it.  Of course, that doesn’t necessarily mean that Republicans are better, but I can’t see they can be any worse. As you read their declarations, note how they dance around the word “abortion,” preferring to talk about “reproductive care,” “health care decsions,” “reproductive freedom,” and “termination of unintended pregnancy.” If there was ever any doubt that they are the Party of Death, that list should clear things up.

Governor Henry, Illegal immigration and Abortion

Governor Henry, Illegal immigration and Abortion

Governor Henry recently did something that was, for me, quite unexpected: he signed into law illegal immigration legislation described as “nation’s most sweeping attempt to deny jobs and public benefits to illegal immigrants,” for which I applaud him. Despite this good decision, though, not all of the Governor’s actions are commendable. He recently vetoed Senate Bill 714 over fears of “unintended consequences.”

Oddly enough, groups like La Raza and the ACLU are wont to file lawsuits against this sort of immigration legislation due to, among other things, the “unintended consequences” regarding the children of those here illegally. Given the likely legal challenges both bills were or are likely to face, there must be something else driving Governor Henry’s veto of SB 714. One thing is clear, though: In Oklahoma, it’s OK to gamble or kill your preborn child, but, before doing so, you had better make sure you’re in the country legally.

“I Oppose It…I Hate It…However I Believe in a Woman’s Right to Choose”

“I Oppose It…I Hate It…However I Believe in a Woman’s Right to Choose”

In a recent interview with Sean Hannity, GOP presidential hopeful Rudy Giuliani said this of abortion, “I oppose it…I hate it…However I believe in a woman’s right to choose.”  Why the tension?  Why does he hate it?  Why does he oppose it?  If it’s because it kills an innocent human being (which it does), then why does he defer to choice of the woman in determining whether or not the child is allowed to live?  If all life is valuable (e.g., someone can’t arbitrarily kill a toddler), why should the life of the pre-born be a “disagreement of conscience?”  On the other hand, if it doesn’t kill an innocent human being, what’s the big deal?  If it is just a blob of tissue (which we all are, by the way), why hate and oppose its removal?  Rudy’s stance is completely illogical, and one of the primary reasons (no pun intended) I won’t be voting for him unless I have to.

From the piece:

London-based obstetrician Professor Stuart Campbell, who is the pioneer of 4D scans in Britain, performed the scans for a National Geographic documentary.

He says: ‘It was fascinating to see the babies in more detail than ever before. I was amazed at the detail in the faces – smiles, blinking – and the interaction between multiple foetuses.’

A Vote for Change, a Vote for Disaster

A Vote for Change, a Vote for Disaster

With the mid-term elections behind us, I’ve heard several people they voted for “change.”  Tired, and rightly so, of the GOP’s loss of any historical sense of what it means to be a Republican, many flocked to the poles to vote for “change.”  While there does exist the slim possibility that many voted for third party candidates, for most, that was either not an option, as it wasn’t here in Oklahoma, or just wasn’t a realistic option (who wants to “throw away” his vote?).  Assuming that’s true, which I think is a pretty safe assumption, given the election results, that means that many people voted Democrat for the first time.  But are they going to get the change they were hoping for?  What kinds of change can we expect?

For all you abortion supporters

For all you abortion supporters

This morning, I ran across an article in my RSS feeds from BPNews.  The article was Baby’s ‘angelic’ face haunts former abortion nurse.  It recounts the testimony of a formerly “pro-choice” nurse who witnessed her first partial birth abortion.  Before you read it, I must warn that is fairly graphic, so please don’t read it if you have a weak stomach.  I fail to see how anyone can still support this barbaric procedure (or any abortion, for that matter) after reading this piece.  (Note: To insure that it remains available, I’m going to duplicate the text below.)
